Instructions for authors

The Review of Economic Perspectives - The Národohospodářský obzor is published quarterly and is devoted to the publication of extensive research results in economics, economic policy and econometrics. The recommended extent of manuscripts is 20 – 30 standard pages (40.000 – 60.000 letters). The journal is peer-reviewed (see more information about peer-review below). The language of the journal is English. The manuscripts are parallelly available on the Versita – Central European Science Publisher, enhancing the availability of manuscripts to wider audience.

Instructions for authors
 
For editorial, publishing and quotational purposes it is important that authors write and prepare their manuscripts according to the instructions and specifications listed below. Therefore, contributors are strongly encouraged to read these instructions carefully before preparing a manuscript for submission and to check the manuscript for conformance before submitting it for publication.
 
The author’s manuscript should meet these requirements:
 
  1. Manuscript contains original work - which is not published by the authors or anyone else in any other medium and neither is under consideration for publication in any other medium.
  2. Manuscript is focused on the core aims and scope of the journal – Review of Economic Perspectives is a scientific journal publishing fundamental research results from all fields of economics, economic policy and econometrics.
  3. Manuscript contains all essential features of a complete scientific paper – the text should contain the introduction with definition of the problem under solution, the overview of relevant literature and applied methods, the analysis of the problem, the discussion of results and the conclusion with a clear formulation of the results. All sources have to be continually quoted in the text and properly listed in the list of references. Direct quotations have to be clearly market in the text. Each manuscript has to contain abstract with key words, JEL classification and the contact to the author with the full name, institution (not obligatory) and contact address including email.
  4. Manuscript is processed according to editorial guide (click here for an obligatory template)– authors should provide complete, correct and properly structured references, as instructed by the template. To keep the quotational instructions is highly important for further processing.
  5. Manuscript is written in English - should be clearly and grammatically written, in an easily readable style. Please note that after accepting the manuscript we provided language editing.
 
Submit the manuscript in electronic MS Word (.doc) format at nho@econ.muni.cz. Sending a manuscript indicates a tacit understanding that it is not actively under consideration for publication with other journals. If the manuscript is accepted, authors are required to transfer the copyright to the publisher.
 
The manuscripts meeting these requirements will be accepted to the double blind peer review process by two reviewers. You can see the reviewer’s form here.
 
 
Peer Review Process
 
Each manuscripts meeting the above stated requirements undergoes a double blind review procedure prior to the publication. The review is made anonymously by two reviewers constituting of members of the Editorial Board and Editors or by its appointed expert. The reviews are usually elaborated in one month after the issue’s deadline for authors.
 
The reviewers examine whether the submitted article contains all essential features according to instruction for authors, i.e. whether it is original work not published elsewhere, whether it contains all essential features of a complete scientific paper. Further criterions are the adequacy of the method, the logical consistency, the up-to datedness of the data, sources and references.
 
The Editor in Chief decides whether to accept accepts conditionally or reject a paper on the basis of the reviews. The Technical Editor communicates the final decision, and informs the authors about further processing.
 
The conditionally accepted manuscripts should be corrected by the author(s) taking into account the remarks or suggestions of the reviewer. It is not allowed to make more extensive alteration influencing the extent or content of the article. The electronic copy of the corrected paper has to be sent to the Editor office at nho@econ.muni.cz not later than two weeks after receiving the review.
 
The accepted articles are further processed to language editing. The author(s) should incorporate the language editing and send the finished article to the Editorial office not later than two weeks after receiving it.
 
The manuscript is published in printed and electronic version in three months after issue’s deadline for authors.
 

Příspěvky jsou publikovány v anglickém jazyce; paralelně jsou plné texty dostupné na portálu vydavatelství Versita. Časopis publikuje především rozsáhlejší statě, doporučený rozsah příspěvků je 20 až 30 normostran (počet znaků 40.000–60.000 včetně mezer). Příspěvky zasílejte elektronicky na adresu redakce ve formátu Windows Word s využitím šablony . Zaslání textu v jiném formátu předem dohodněte s redakcí. Do recenzního řízení pro jednotlivá čísla zařadíme rukopisy podle data doručení.

Zasláním příspěvku se autor zavazuje, že příspěvek je původní a dosud nepublikovaný. K recenznímu řízení jsou přijímány pouze příspěvky jejichž struktura odpovídá obecným požadavkům na strukturu vědecké práce: text musí obsahovat úvod s vymezením řešeného problému, přehled literatury a použitých metod, rozbor problému, diskusi výsledků a shrnutí s jasnou formulací závěru. Všechny zdroje a prameny musí být v textu průběžně citovány a uvedeny v seznamu použité literatury. Přímo převzaté citace musí být v textu zvlášť vyznačeny.

Na každý příspěvek budou vypracovány dva oboustranně anonymní recenzní posudky, na jejichž základě rozhodne redakce o přijetí či nepřijetí k publikaci. Redakce může článek přijmout k publikování podmíněně a vyžádat si zapracování připomínek recenzentů. Články přijaté k publikaci procházejí jazykovou korekturou. Autorské korektury tiskové verze článků je třeba vrátit redakci nejpozději do 14 dnů a není přípustné v nich provádět větší úpravy, které by ovlivnily rozsah/obsah textu. Každý článek musí být doplněn abstraktem a klíčovými slovy v českém i anglickém jazyce, číselnou klasifikaci JEL a kontaktními údaji autora s uvedeným jménem, příjmením, institucí zaměstnavatele (nepovinný údaj) a kontaktní adresou včetně e-mailu.
